Braulio Carrillo
Upon leaving San José, during the 1 hour and
15 minute trip we will cross the Braulio
Carrillo National Park, where you will
discover the exuberant vegetation typical of
this National Park. Once you reach Hotel
Sueño Azul you will enjoy a dish of natural
fruits, accompanied of coffee or tea or a
natural drink.
We will then go the “Malatoba” brook, born
in the heart of the Braulio Carrillo
National Park, in a 45-minute ride on
horseback, we will then board the
13-platform canopy in order to come to the
refreshing cascades product of the water
stroke on the rocks with the passing of
time, where you can bathe and enjoy natural
massages with the strokes of the cascades.
There is also a large 800 m2 swimming pool
with a 40 m long water chute; where the
water is refreshingly natural, since it is
taken from the river to where it returns.
The maximum depth is of 1.5 m, thus being
safe for the entire family.
We will return to the Hotel on horseback, by
cart, or by automotive vehicle, where you
will enjoy a buffet-type lunch. For those
who do not wish to travel on horseback,
transportation would be by cart or by car

La Paz Waterfall Gardens, Poás
Volcano, Doka Coffee Plantation
This tour is a complete package
that allows you to see the true
essence of Costa Rica. Our first
stop is breakfast at a local
café where you will enjoy an
authentic Costa Rican style
breakfast. We will then take you
to a third-generation coffee
plantation and show you how
coffee is picked, milled,
ground, and roasted. Once you’ve
found out first hand, or cup,
why Costa Rica is known for its
coffee, it’s off to the Poás
Volcano. This crater volcano is
one of the four active volcanoes
in Costa Rica. The crystal blue
sulfur pools will amaze you
along with the steam rising from
the various volcanic vents. But,
that’s not all: our last stop is
La Paz Waterfall Gardens.
Your personal tour guide will
take you through the butterfly
observatory, the hummingbird
garden and the waterfall trails.
After your hike you will enjoy
our Costa Rican buffet lunch.

Aerial tram
Our expert naturalist guides have knowledge
of all the birds in our parks, and will meet
you at the park entrance at 5:00 am, just
before sunrise. You will take advantage of
the silence and great visibility at all the
different levels of the rainforest. At 7:00
am, you will have the opportunity to closely
observe canopy-dwelling birds from a unique
perspective, the Aerial Tram, providing an
excellent opportunity to observe Scarlet
Macaws in their majestic flight, or parrots
and toucans perching in the open trees. In
the forest canopy, you can observe mixed
flocks of Euphoni, tanagers, warblers, and
others, all fluttering in the branches. The
Aerial Tram can stop anywhere along its path
so you can take a closer look without
straining your neck. After a great morning
of bird watching, you will enjoy a delicious
meal at our Rain Forest Restaurant.

Irazu Volcano, Orosi Valley
and the Lankester Gardens
You will ascend the breathtaking summit of
the Irazu Volcano for a view of the massive
crater. On a clear day you can actually see
the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans! After an
exciting tour of the volcano you will
descend to the Orosi Valley and visit the
Lankester Gardens that is home to some 800
varieties of exotic orchids and various
tropical flowers and plants. The tour will
continue through the unique beauty of the
famous Orosi Valley and the Reventazon
River. Following lunch we will visit one of
the oldest colonial churches before
returning to San Jose.

Reventazón River Rafting
views of mist-shrouded virgin
rainforest stretching as far as
the eye can see. Once through
the national park and down in
the tropical lowlands, you will
stop for a traditional Costa
Rican breakfast, and continue on
to the river put in. After some
brief safety instructions,
you'll launch your raft and
begin this exciting white-water
journey. A delicious lunch is
served on the banks of the river
during the trip. At the river
take out, you will be able to
change into dry clothes for the
return to San José.
Depart from San José, driving
approximately 2 hours to the
Reventazón River. Breakfast en
route. At the put in you'll rig
your raft and begin the journey
downriver. River time:
approximately 2 1/2 hours
depending on the water level.
Lunch on the riverbank before
the afternoon take out and
return to San José.

TURU BA RI Tropical Park
is a brand new, eco-adventure
oriented theme park, located at
the west end of the Central
Valley on your way to the
Central Pacific Coast. Meaning
River of the Clear Moon in the
Huetar language, this Tropical
Park started operation on April
5th, 2003. Boasting a total
extension of 198 hectares (496
acres) in the village of San
Juan de Mata, near Turrubares,
San Mateo and Orotina, nestled
in a beautiful scenery, it is
surrounded to the northeast by
the River Río Grande de Tárcoles,
to the southwest by the
Turrubares hillsides and the
Carara National Park. To the
west, the Gulf of Nicoya can be
observed from the highest areas
of our Tropical Park.
