This committee is not only dedicated to the safe preservation of our parks but of our local beaches as well. We are also a community located in a National Refuge for the Olive Riddley Turtles that come to nest in Playa Ostional. Our local beaches have been saved by the dedicated work of many locals and expats in the community working to prevent large scale and high density development in our area. This area has been preserved with a 200 meter. boundary extending from Punta India to Punta Guioines.
Our local climate here can only be pictured as, “The
Endless Summer” with a total average rain fall
ranging from 90” to 120” annually. The rainy season
brings in most of the yearly rainfall, which begins
with afternoon thunder showers in late April or
early May increasing during September and October to
early November. Throughout the months of November
and January you will experience a touch of the
Papagayo winds that create a wonderful offshore flow
and fantastic surf! |
