Highways positive impact on the southern zone

Costa Rica's new Hotspot

With the new highway from San Jose  connecting the Pacific ocean along with the long awaited stretch from Quepos Manuel Antonio to Dominical, a jailbreak is about to occur.

Many people are looking forward to the faster travel time, hoping to cut the 90 minute trip to about 25 minutes form Quepos to Dominical and another hour and a half from San Jose to the central pacific.

All of this is a real plus for all the towns from Mata Palo all the way to pt Jimenez.  With 850,000 visitors in the Quepos Manuel Antonio area annually, the southern zone is going to benefit greatly from all of this in both Tourism and Real Estate.

For all the development we have seen in the past years, this stretch of the Costanera Highway is  the "missing link" to real development in the Southern Pacific Zone.

This does not necessarily translate into overbuilding and destroying Forests as the south is very Eco sensitive with all it's Bio Diversity and programs in place to control development so it doesn't hurt our Environment.
