From the terrace, you can see the adjacent rainforested areas as far as the Pacific Ocean – and after a beautiful sunset, you can relax at the fireplace. From the capital of San José, Los Alpes can be reached in about 1 ¾ hours with the all-wheel-drive and or 4×4. There are two bathrooms, the one with bathtub, the other with shower, with running cold and hot water from its own 60 m deep well. The water has the best drinking water quality.
. The property sits at 4,600 feet/1,400 meters above sea level at the most southerly end of Cordillera de Tilarán in a large rainforest reserve. This area is a “Monteverde in the nutshell”, but without the tourist crowd here. You will continually enjoy the wonderful views of the surrounding mountain rainforest and the Pacific with the Gulf of Nicoya, Puerto Caldera, and the Tortuga Islands.
The Re-Forestation Project: The forests border the area of the German rainforest conservation association ARCA. Together we have set ourselves the goal of preserving the existing primary mountain rainforests in the Cordillera de Tilarán before the felling and restoring already cleared surfaces. Thus, Los Alpes and ARCA are helping to close the Central American “Green Corridor” in this area.
